A nice, simple early reader told in rhyme (of course)。 Takes place after How The Grinch Stole Christmas, so the Grinch is on good terms with the Whos。 The Grinch comes down from the mountain to do some cooking with Cindy-Loo Who。
Amanda,
My son and I enjoyed reading this。 He always loves to bake with me and now he wants to make some cookies for the dogs。 Very cute with a bit of rhyming。 Fun for everyone!
Amanda,
We read this before baking Christmas cookies and the kids enjoyed making the recipe included with the book for the doggies。
Jeani,
Wonderful story for fans of the Grinch!
Anastasya,
We love all Dr。 Seuss books :) This one is perfect for a first grader to read independently。 Bonus recipe, too!
Cheryl,
Very cute! Now if only there were a recipe included。。。 I don't think the treats would be hard to make with significant help from a five year old。---Btw, apparently some editions do have the recipe。 The one I read does not, anywhere。 It's probably a newer edition than the one that includes it; at least this library copy is in terrific condition, glossy & clean。 Very cute! Angel Lederhause,
Cute。 It even has a dog treat receipe。
Dolly,
This is a fun book for beginning readers that shows the Grinch and Cindy-Lou Who baking a special treat。 The narrative is short, in large font, and the illustrations are very typical of Dr。 Seuss's classic story。It's a fun, fast read and will appeal to younger children。 This is a fun book for beginning readers that shows the Grinch and Cindy-Lou Who baking a special treat。 The narrative is short, in large font, and the illustrations are very typical of Dr。 Seuss's classic story。It's a fun, fast read and will appeal to younger children。 。。。more
Katelynne,
It’s your typical early reader。 Honestly I’m just mad he looks so devious on the cover but just makes treats with Cindy Lou。 🤷🏻♀️
John Yelverton,
This is better than other attempts that I have read of books attempting to imitate Dr。 Seuss' rhyming style, but it's still a pale imitation of the master。 This is better than other attempts that I have read of books attempting to imitate Dr。 Seuss' rhyming style, but it's still a pale imitation of the master。 。。。more
McKenzie Richardson,
For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleI was pleasantly surprised by this book。 With the newest Grinch movie out and working with two little Grinch fans, when I see a Grinch book at the library, I snatch it up。 I will say I have been rather disappointed with the most recent onslaught of Grinch books based on the new movie。 I haven't seen the movie yet, but the books were rather dull。 I grabbed this from the library, figuring it would be okay and the kids at work would enjoy looking at For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleI was pleasantly surprised by this book。 With the newest Grinch movie out and working with two little Grinch fans, when I see a Grinch book at the library, I snatch it up。 I will say I have been rather disappointed with the most recent onslaught of Grinch books based on the new movie。 I haven't seen the movie yet, but the books were rather dull。 I grabbed this from the library, figuring it would be okay and the kids at work would enjoy looking at the pictures。Then I finally read it。 It is actually very good。 For starters, I really admire Grinch books that actually rhyme。 As soon as I open one to find that doesn't rhyme, my heart goes out of reading it just a little bit。 What's the point of a Grinch book that doesn't rhyme? That's just my personal preference。 I'm a bit biased toward the original。 Continuing on。 The story itself is also very cute。 It's not just a rehash of how the Grinch tried stealing Christmas。 This is a story that occurs after all that and it is amazing in its simplicity。 Also, the pictures are adorable。 They are just Grinchy enough for me。 They have the same style as the original Grinch, but are still new and different。This is a Step 1 book for preschool to kindergarten readers。 It uses rhyme, big text, simple words, and picture clues to help young readers。Excellent story with great pictures。 I really loved this one。 It definitely made my shrunken heart grow at least one size today。 。。。more
Meg McGregor,
Cindy Lou-Who and the Grinch bake up a holiday treat for someone very special! The girls and I were all smiles at the end of the story!I wish I could find more of these easy to read stories; Lexi is now reading them by herself!Today I had her read the story and she was so proud of herself!
Rita,
2 months into kindergarten its still a tough read for him。 I had his first grade sister read it and she had trouble。 Then their was a 2nd grader who didn't get all the words like "treat" I don't think it should be labeled first step or reading level 1。 2 months into kindergarten its still a tough read for him。 I had his first grade sister read it and she had trouble。 Then their was a 2nd grader who didn't get all the words like "treat" I don't think it should be labeled first step or reading level 1。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The Grinch heard the bells ringing and heard the Whos singing and he went to Cindy-Lou's house。 They were making treats for the Grinch's pet/friend and surprised Max。 I would recommend this book because it shows kindness and love by getting someone a present and showing other's how much you care about them by putting hard work into it。 I liked this book because it shows you how to care about other people, but it might be a little to easy for a 6 or 7 year old reader。 The Grinch heard the bells ringing and heard the Whos singing and he went to Cindy-Lou's house。 They were making treats for the Grinch's pet/friend and surprised Max。 I would recommend this book because it shows kindness and love by getting someone a present and showing other's how much you care about them by putting hard work into it。 I liked this book because it shows you how to care about other people, but it might be a little to easy for a 6 or 7 year old reader。 。。。more
Matt,
With Neo leading the charge, we checked out our favourite holiday villain, to see what he had in store。 It would seem that Whoville is not entirely safe, as the Grinch is peering down and has a plan that involves much flour and a pre-heated oven。 Arriving to see Cindy-Lou, the Grinch sets about mixing and making, stirring and baking, all in an attempt to get everything working in order。 However, his canine, Max, almost spoils the entire surprise that he and Cindy-Lou have in store for everyone。 With Neo leading the charge, we checked out our favourite holiday villain, to see what he had in store。 It would seem that Whoville is not entirely safe, as the Grinch is peering down and has a plan that involves much flour and a pre-heated oven。 Arriving to see Cindy-Lou, the Grinch sets about mixing and making, stirring and baking, all in an attempt to get everything working in order。 However, his canine, Max, almost spoils the entire surprise that he and Cindy-Lou have in store for everyone。 Neo did very well reading this piece, laughing at the rhyming antics while showing a dedication to all the words on the page。 His concentration is second to none and his love of reading is growing with each book we find。 。。。more

Antoinette Scully,
My three year old picked this out and it was cute。 Young readers will recognize the characters from the Grinch story。 It's a simple story set at Christmas but not necessarily a Christmas story。 My three year old picked this out and it was cute。 Young readers will recognize the characters from the Grinch story。 It's a simple story set at Christmas but not necessarily a Christmas story。 。。。more

Not too bad for a continuation of the original。 Cute。 Good for early readers。
Meredith,
Now that the spirit of Christmas has transformed the Grinch into a benign force, he embraces domesticity by baking with Cindy-Lou Who in this level 1 beginning reader。
